What is it? How is it made? When does it occur? Do I need to castrate? Why don't you castrate?
I'm attempting to answer that question and a lot more on this page.
In particular, I'm tracking my existing "little" pigs and the "big/littles" to determine whether or hot they have it. Thus determining whether or not you, as the customer can safely buy a pig uncut and not have that nasty boar taint, thus making nothing but sausage out of your hard earned meat. It's a valid concern.
Bear with me, as this page will be under construction for a while. I have a biopsy tool on order, and I'll be making video and blogging, linking that here, to follow these guys and give you the info as soon as I get it. I'm relying heavily on info put out by Walter Jeffries of Sugar Mountain Farms, and will be looking more into his research, as he's been raising large hogs on pasture for years, and has bred boar taint out of his herd.
